February 9
Homework 12 has been posted on the website. It is due on Friday February 13
February 6
There will be no class for undergraduates on Monday February 9. There will be class for graduate students. The topic covered will be Fibonacci heaps. Undergraduates are welcome. Homework that was due February 9 should be handed in on Wednesday February 11.
February 2
The homework set distributed today is due Friday, February 6 (after the Midterm).

The Midterm will NOT include the concept of "loop invariants." But it will include all details of Dijkstra's algorithm discussed in class as well as all material discussed earlier this term.
IMPORTANT: review all handouts and all homework problems before the Midterm. Take advantage of the TAs' office hours to clarify points regarding old homework.

The graded homework returned today includes green numbers. They represent your cumulative homework scores. Compare them with the class statistics.

January 31
Ignore problem 10.3. It is identical with Problem 6.4 and was accidentally reassigned.
January 30
Midterm 1 on Wednesday, February 4
January 29
Remember: Problem 6.5, originally assigned to be due today, has been canceled because the absent-minded instructor discussed it in class.
January 28
STATISTICS page added.
January 22
On problem 1.1 a point was taken off erroneously from some students, for not counting the comparison of the loop variable. This is in fact a correct interpretation of the problem, as discussed in the solution handout. If you lost a point for this reason, please send email to Varsha (varsha@cs.uchicago.edu).
January 17
New office hour has been added: Mondays 5-6, starting Mon, Jan. 19.
