Welcome to CS151! The syllabus contains detailed information on all aspects of the course.
The instructors for CS151 in Autumn 2013 are John Reppy, for Section 1, and Adam Shaw, for Section 2.
Course content will appear both at this site and on piazza. As such you will need to register for a piazza account. You should have received an invitation, with registration instructions, to the piazza course site at your uchicago.edu email address. Please let us know as soon as possible if you have not received an invitation.
Lectures
Lectures are in Ryerson 251.
Section 1, taught by John Reppy, meets MWF, 10:30–11:20.
Section 2, taught by Adam Shaw, meets MWF, 11:30–12:20.
Labs
The lab exercises are linked to from the index to coursework.
Attendance at lab sessions is mandatory. They are held in the new CSIL (Computer Science Instructional Laboratory) on the first floor of the John Crerar Library. Labs are held at eight different times; you must register for one of them, and attend that one each week.
The lab meeting times are as follows:
- Tuesday 12:00–1:20 (CSIL 1)
- Tuesday 1:30–2:50 (CSIL 1)
- Tuesday 3:00–4:20 (CSIL 1)
- Tuesday 4:30–5:50 (CSIL 1)
- Wednesday 12:30–1:50 (CSIL 1, CSIL 2)
- Wednesday 2:00–3:20 (CSIL 1, CSIL 2)
- Wednesday 3:30–4:50 (CSIL 1, CSIL 2)
- Wednesday 5:00–6:20 (CSIL 1, CSIL 2)

Office Hours
The office hours of the CS151 instructional staff will appear here soon.
In addition to our own office hours, the College Core Tutor Program provides support for CS151, Sundays through Thursdays from 7pm–11pm, starting the Sunday just before the second week of lectures. (Informally, we refer to these as the Harper tutors.)

- Never copy work from any other source and submit it as your own.
- Never allow your work to be copied.
- Never submit work identical to another student's.
- Document all collaboration.
