Office Hours

If you need help with any of your coursework in this class, you are welcome to come to office hours to get one-on-one help from an instructor or TA. That said, please make sure to read our Getting Help page first to understand when it makes sense to come to office hours, and when it might make more sense to seek assistance on Ed Discussion.

Please note that we use a scheduling website to manage our office hours (please see Office Hours Instructions for more details). Please do not show up to an office hours location without an appointment: you must always submit a request through the scheduling website first.

In-person office hours are available at the following times

  • Mondays: 10:30am-12:00pm and 3:00pm-4:00pm

  • Tuesdays: 11:30am-1:30pm and 2:30pm-4:30pm

  • Wednesdays: 1:30pm-6:30pm

  • Thursdays: 12:00pm-5:00pm

  • Fridays: 10:30am-2:00pm

All in-person office hours take place in Crerar Library. You will be told the exact room when you are scheduled for a specific time through our scheduling website.

Zoom office hours are available at the following times:

  • Tuesdays: 2:30pm-4:30pm and 5:00pm-6:30pm

  • Wednesdays: 9:00am-12:00pm

  • Thursdays: 10:00am-11:30am and 1:30pm-4:30pm

  • Fridays: 9:00am-10:30am

All of the above office hours (in-person and remote) are staffed by TAs and instructors, and there will often be more than one TA/instructor available to handle questions at any given time.

If you would like to talk specifically with an instructor, each instructor holds individual office hours at the following times:

  • Tim Black: Tuesdays from 1:30pm to 2:30pm over Zoom (see Canvas for Zoom link)

  • Hannah Morgan: Mondays from 2pm to 3pm in Crerar 208

  • Borja Sotomayor: Mondays from 3:30pm to 4:30pm in Crerar 209

These are not managed through the scheduling website and students are seen on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please note that these office hours are typically better suited for conceptual questions as well as for any matter that requires speaking with an instructor specifically (but you’re still welcome to come to these office hours with debugging questions; just bear in mind that time is much more limited in these individual office hours).
