Configure Remote Access to your Ubuntu 20.04 Host

To get started, you'll need the computer host name (e.g., spongebob.cs.uchicago.edu) that's been assigned to you for this course. Please contact the teaching team if you have not received your host name. Then, follow these steps:

1. Download and install the NoMachine Enterprise Client

2. Either:

• Open the file that we sent you with the parameters for your host, or
• Follow these steps to setup your host using the NoMachine application:

Click the "New" button.

Select the SSH protocol.

Enter the computer host name (e.g., spongebob.cs.uchicago.edu) that's been assigned to you for this course.

Keep the "Password" authentication method selected.

Keep the "Don't use a proxy" option selected.

Create a link on your desktop if you wish and rename your connection to anything you'd like. Hit the "Done" button.
