Beyond CMSC 20600/30600: Recommended Courses
Here are some upcoming courses that are related to robotics that you might consider taking if you're interested in furthering your education in robotics and/or robotics-related areas:

- CMSC 20600/30600 Introduction to Robotics (Fall 2022)
- Instead of teaching Intro Robotics in the Winter or Spring, I'll be teaching it in the fall this upcoming academic year. If you're interested in TAing for the course, I'll likely be looking for 1 undergrad TA. Also, if you have any friends interested in the course - let them know it will be offered during the fall this academic year.
- CMSC 33281 Topics in Human-Robot Interaction (Winter 2023)
- The field of human-robot interaction (HRI) is a new and growing field of research that explores the interface between people and robots. This course exposes students to a broad range of recent and cutting-edge research in HRI (e.g., nonverbal + verbal robot behavior, social dynamics, collaboration & learning). Course meetings will involve students in the class leading discussions about cutting-edge HRI publications. Throughout the quarter, teams of students in the course will also complete an HRI research project of their choosing. This course is offered as an HCI elective and is open to both graduate and undergraduate students. To find out more, please visit the course website from last year.

- Building Actuated User Interfaces and Technologies (Winter 2023)
- This will be a new UChicago course designed for undergraduates that will explore controlling different actuators/motors and building mechanical stuff for interaction design.
- Practice in Art and Technology (Spring 2023)
- This will be a new UChicago course designed for graduate students that will involve building and designing interactive systems for public exhibition.

While I'm unsure of which courses exactly Matt will be teaching next academic year, in the past he has offered the classes:
- TTIC 31240: Self-driving Vehicles: Models and Algorithms for Autonomy
- Colloquially known as Duckietown, the course considers problems in perception, navigation, and control, and their systems-level integration in the context of self-driving vehicles through an open-source curriculum for autonomy education that emphasizes hands-on learning.
- TTIC 31170: Planning, Learning, and Estimation for Robotics and Artificial Intelligence
- A graduate-level course concerned with fundamental techniques in robotics and artificial intelligence (AI), with an emphasis on probabilistic inference, learning, and planning under uncertainty.
